Harvest celebration and inauguration of the new playground on the school grounds
The school community of Levana School, which has had a temporary home at Schützenstraße 85 since April 2023, gathered in the gym due to the bad weather to say "THANK YOU" in a ceremony.
First of all - as every year - Thanksgiving was celebrated. The preparation team had prepared vivid activities to show the pupils with special needs in holistic and motor development how important sun, water and wind are for a plant to grow from a seed in the ground. The elements were represented with different colored cloths and an impressive picture gradually emerged in the middle. This was rounded off with baskets of fruit and vegetables contributed by each class.
But it was not only the rich harvest that was gratefully celebrated.
After more than a year of planning and approval, a new playground was created on the school grounds in recent weeks, which the pupils had been eagerly awaiting. Now it is finished and the selected play equipment invites both younger and older pupils to swing, seesaw, climb, build sandcastles etc. A three-meter-high orange arch is particularly eye-catching. The Lappset Sona play arch gives a command or asks a question and the players act accordingly on the permanently installed playing field, jumping on colored fields and numbers or moving according to their own ideas. Fun for young and old.
After the blessing of the playground, Vice Principal Alexander Müller thanked the planning group consisting of the teaching staff, the district administration, the company Lappset Spiel-, Park-, Freizeitsysteme GmbH from Gronau and the principal Mrs. Römermann for their work, which ultimately led to this great result.
After a song of blessing, the pupils looked forward to a delicious lunch of vegetable pizza. This was complemented by apple sauce and apple juice. These delicious gifts had been prepared by numerous helping hands in a joint effort the day before. They had collected the apples themselves from a meadow orchard.
