On October 4, a school parents' meeting was held again after two years. The Janusz Korczak School in Sinzig made its premises available to our school community in order to reduce travel times for parents.
The current Chair of the School Parents' Council (SEB), Ms. Charlotte Schön, welcomed all those present and thanked the teachers with small gifts for the good cooperation in the past. She then used selected photos to recall special events and activities from school life over the past two years. (see presentation)
Ms. Schön also explained the numerous tasks that the School Parents' Council has taken on during this time. The past year following the flood disaster was particularly challenging and presented everyone with unprecedented tasks. The SEB showed great commitment to the interests of the pupils and parents. Ms. Schön appealed to the parents present to get involved even without an official position and to work for the benefit of their children. Finally, she also thanked her fellow members of the SEB for their good cooperation. Her SEB colleagues emphasized that Ms Schön had taken on a large part of the work and thanked her.
The next item on the agenda was the election of a new school parents' council. Principal Kathrin Römermann explained the procedure to the parents. The parents present then elected their new SEB for the next two years from a list of six proposed candidates. The elected candidates accepted the election and distributed the tasks among themselves as follows:
Ms. Charlotte Schön remains Chairwoman, her deputy is Ms. Nicole Schmitt-Groß and Mr. Fulvio Arreghini is an assessor. The deputies are Anika Schlaud, Maja Andreatta and Alina Lindner.
