Secondary level 1 at the school with a focus on holistic and motor development covers years 5 to 9. During this time, it is important to continue and consolidate basic and important learning content from the first four years. Learning through play now becomes less and less important and makes way for new forms of learning. The ability to assess oneself and confidence in one's own strengths and abilities are increasingly promoted. Overall, pupils are acting increasingly independently. They learn how to deal with new situations and develop problem-solving strategies. In the area of "AAC", the focus is on independent communication and interaction. Another aspect that should not be underestimated is the change in sexual education, which focuses on the development-related changes to the body and individual needs as well as personal hygiene in young people.
Becoming self-aware, coming to terms with one's own disability, recognizing one's own feelings
discovering, but also perceiving the sensitivities of others, these are impressions and
Feelings that are always sensitively addressed. Because strengthening the
self-identity, self-confidence and increasing independence are equally important
Support focuses on the path to adulthood such as social behavior and cooperation.
For this reason, the areas of activity listed below are of central importance in the
Timetable for secondary level 1.
  • Housekeeping: e.g. cooking a lunch meal once a week according to a text/picture recipe; using the kitchen and kitchen utensils properly

  • Work: Get to know and use tools and machines

  •  Cultural techniques: Consolidate and expand skills

  • Taking responsibility for the school community: preparing festivals and celebrations
    Celebrations, cleanup, service
